Calling All Best Southwest Students! Students of DeSoto, Duncanville, Lancaster, Cedar Hill and other SW Dallas County Schools……

High School and Middle School Students can earn a cash prize for writing a winning essay during our American Education Week.

Essay Contest: Local Winners will compete Regionally and Nationally (Evelyn D. Wilkey National Youth Essay Contest) for additional prizes.

Eligibility: Open to all middle and high school students

Deadline: Postmarked by November 1, 2016

Type: 500 Word Essay based on:

“What role does social media have in today’s educational system?”

National Prizes:

High School – 1st place ($500.00), 2nd place ($250.00), 3rd place ($100.00)

Middle School – 1st place ($500.00), 2nd place ($250.00), 3rd place ($100.00)

The Essay Contest ends November 1, 2016.
